The 9th Maintenance Seminar on “Condition Monitoring Technology” -Referring the Other Domestic Industries and Overseas Experiences-
Purpose
By utilizing equipment condition monitoring data and knowledge which have been accumulated so far, one can prepare technical justification for expanding inspection or monitoring intervals of equipments. Further, once an abnormal signal is obtained from some component, one can determine the timing of corrective action with confidence. Therefore, it can be said that condition monitoring technologies have the potential of enhancing existing maintenance level and optimizing maintenance for nuclear power plants. A new regulatory system for the Japanese nuclear power plants has become effective last year which allows use condition-based maintenance, provided strong technical rationale or justification for maintenance is provided to the regulatory body and the public.
In this seminar, effectiveness and limitations of utilizing condition monitoring technologies in the maintenance of nuclear power plants will be discussed and hence beneficial information will be provided.
